It is the sixth grade teachers' policy to assist in the building of good organizational skills that your child will need throughout his/her time at Waterloo Junior High School. Your child’s agenda contains a calendar for students to record all assignments. It is very important that your child uses the agenda! As a parent, you can refer to the agenda or the team web pages nightly to check students’ assignments and upcoming tests.
Students are expected to respect their classmates, themselves, their teachers, and the school property at all times. The six grade teachers have very high academic expectations as well as behavioral expectations reflected by the pillars of character education.

After 4 offenses, consequences will be determined by teacher and/or administrator.

Late Work:
Late work is anything that is not completed when the student walks into the door of the classroom. The policy is left up to the discretion of the teacher, but the guidelines are as follows:
Credit Check/Completion Check/Small Grade (5-10 points)—no late grades allowed, automatic zero
Daily Work Late Grade Policy--
Academic Dishonesty:
Academic dishonesty is taken very seriously. Any kind of cheating will not be tolerated and will result in an automatic zero for the assignment or test as well as a referral to the office where the student will be subject to additional disciplinary action from the administration.
Study Hall/Advisory Period:
All students will have a study hall Monday through Friday. With some Fridays set-aside for an advisory period. The following guidelines apply:

Late Work:

- If the assignment is not turned in after 1 day, it will be a zero.

- Study hall is a time for students to productively work on school projects and assignments.
- Students must arrive to study hall/advisory on time and be prepared. The advisory teacher will give no locker passes, if you need to return to your locker for materials it will be a tardy.
- Students must use study hall time to work on assignments, ask for help from team teachers, or work together on group/partner project (only if given permission from the study hall/advisory teacher).
- A pass from a teacher will be required to leave study hall to go to another classroom even for class work.
- Advisory is a time for students to participate in team building and character education activities.
